Equestrian interaction is a form of exercise that makes use of horses to help promote emotional growth. Equestrian interaction is particularly applied to patients with ADD, anxiety, autism, dementia, delay in mental development, down syndrome and other genetic syndromes, depression, trauma and brain injuries, behavior and abuse issues and other mental health issues.
We have opened our farm and our hearts to those animals that have no home or heart to love them. The majority of our animals on the farm are Sanctuary animals. You are also always welcome to visit in person. We would love to show you around the farm and introduce you to the many wonderful animal residents. Visits and Tours can be scheduled by appointment so that we are sure to have someone available to show you around.
Animal-assisted activities and experiential learning create the opportunity for children to self-reflect through interactions and relationships with people, peers and animals in the barn environment. Experiences with farm animals can teach responsibility, care and concern for another creature, and personal boundaries such as appropriate touch, movement, and fine and gross motor skills, as well as leadership and teamwork skills. Children become primary caretakers, feeding animals, cleaning stalls and tending to the basic needs of the animals.
